The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica hosted the Dominica Private Sector Resilience Alignment Forum on Monday, December 15, 2025, bringing together public sector leaders, private sector stakeholders, financial institutions, and development partners to advance collaboration on national resilience priorities.
The Forum was convened by the Ministry of Labour (Private Sector Relations Unit), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, and the United Nations Sub-Regional Office, under the theme “Mobilizing private sector action, financing, and public–private partnerships for resilience-alignment.” The event was held in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and virtual participation.
The feature address at the forum was delivered by Mrs. Gloria Joseph; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, representing the Honourable Daren Pinard. He advised private sector leaders accordingly “Private sector resilience must be embedded across all aspects of business operations from infrastructure and energy use, to supply chains, financial planning, workforce development, and market diversification. Businesses that invest in climate-smart practices, modern technologies, and skilled labour are not only protecting their enterprises; they are strengthening the national economy.”
The Forum provided a platform for dialogue between government and the private sector on identification and strengthening of alignment with national resilience objectives, enhancing investment readiness, and expanding partnerships that support sustainable economic development. Discussions focused on practical collaboration, financing pathways, and the role of businesses in advancing resilience and long-term growth.
The event forms part of the Government’s broader effort to deepen private sector engagement as a core pillar of Dominica’s resilience strategy and to foster coordinated action across institutions and industries.
